What city will you be talking about?
What’s the cheapest way to enjoy this city at night?
Grab a €5 bottle of wine at an épicerie (corner market) and hang out on the steps of Sacré-Coeur, looking out over Paris and listening to people chat and flirt and play music.
What’s your favorite restaurant here? What’s so special about it?
Pain, Vin, Fromages (bread, wine, cheese!). The name says it all.
What’s your favorite thing to do on a warm Sunday morning in this city?
Get out of the sun and go to the catacombs right at opening time, before the crowd gets there, to be alone with millions of skeletons and several centuries of Parisian history.
What were some of the hidden gems in that city? Why?
Les Arènes de Lutèce — an ancient Roman arena hidden in the 5th arrondissement. Le Cimetière des Chiens — a lovely pet cemetery just on the outer edge of Paris. Le Musée des Arts Forains — a private collection of old carnival rides that’s only open on special occasions.
Anything else you want to add?
Paris is spectacular and the big famous things are absolutely worth visiting, but for me the weird, unusual, lesser-known bits are where it’s at. Check out my webiste for lots more!
